GloWalk Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-11
This privacy policy applies to GloWalk.
Data Collection
GloWalk processes all data locally on your iPhone. GPS location, ambient light readings, phone posture, screen brightness, and walking path data never leave your device. With your explicit permission, GloWalk writes your completed walking sessions — steps, distance, duration, and route — to the Health app as workout records. GloWalk only writes; it never reads your Health data, and no health data is transmitted off your device. No account is required. No analytics. No tracking.
File System Access
GloWalk stores your walking history and posters locally in the app's sandboxed container. Posters saved to your photo library are subject to iOS system-level photo permissions.
Network Requests
GloWalk makes network requests only to Apple's WeatherKit API — with Open-Meteo as a fallback — to fetch weather data for your current location. Your coordinates are sent to these services solely for weather lookup and are not stored or associated with your identity. No third-party analytics or tracking services are used.
Permissions
GloWalk requests the following iOS permissions: Camera & LED Flash (for flashlight), Location (for path recording and weather), Photo Library (for saving posters), and Health (Apple Health) — with your authorization, GloWalk writes completed walking sessions as workout records to the Health app. Health access is write-only and can be revoked anytime in the iOS Settings app. All permissions are optional — GloWalk works in a reduced mode when permissions are not granted.
Third-Party Services
Weather data is provided by Apple's WeatherKit service, with Open-Meteo as a fallback. Please refer to Apple's privacy policy for WeatherKit and Open-Meteo's privacy policy. GloWalk is not responsible for these providers' data practices.
